Recreation not procreation

Is it just me, or is EVERYONE having a baby?

This process of spawning would be fine, absolutely okay with me, except for the comments. A short list:

1) I am not "next". There is no line. If there was, I would certainly not be waiting in it.
2) Your kid's crying is not really "birth control." I've already made up my mind. The crying is slightly agitating (not just for me, for everyone), but one paltry kid meltdown does not influence such a major life decision.
3) "Don't you want one?" This is why I avoid holding babies. The act of holding a baby can be fun but not when other people ruin the moment with lame lines.
4) Anything from relatives talking about wanting grandkids. If someone like my brother talks about how they deserve them, this is unacceptable.
5) "When are you/y'all/you guys having kids?" or the incredibly-brave "Why don't you have kids?" is not cool at all. First, it's none of your business. Second, how terrible would you feel if I told you that I/we can't have kids? Third, perhaps we have tried already and are having problems conceiving. Millions of women seek in-vitro fertilization every year.
6) It is "selfish" to not have kids. Get over yourself. Over 7 billion people exist on this planet.
7) "Who will look after you when you're old?" Be real, people. We are all going to nursing homes, anyway. IF we live to be that old.
8) "Are you sure you don't want kids?" See #5.

I really enjoy being around my friends' children. People in WNC seem to all have pretty awesome kids and unbelievably cute kids. I like being around them.

Just please let me be myself, with children or without.
